5W ranks first on five of six AI platforms and in 27 of 31 PR topics, and AI engines recommend the firm without being asked

MIAMI, Nov. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- 5W Public Relations (5WPR) is the PR firm AI engines name most often, according to a new 5W analysis using Profound's tools. In October 2026, 5W appeared in 30.3% of brand-naming AI answers across six platforms, the highest share of any firm measured. The analysis covered 396 unbranded prompts and 140,195 executions.

Key findings

• 5W ranked first on ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Google Gemini and Perplexity, and second on Microsoft Copilot, within 0.2 points of first.
• 5W ranked first in 27 of 31 PR topics, including consumer PR (52.2%), media relations, technology PR and crisis communications.
• No prompt named a firm. AI engines recommended 5W on their own when users asked general questions about PR.

How the analysis worked
5W ran 396 unbranded prompts, written the way a buyer would ask an AI assistant about PR, across ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity. The prompts produced 140,195 executions in October 2026. 5W measured the share of brand-naming answers in which each firm appeared, overall, by platform and across 31 PR topics. The data is 5W's analysis using Profound's tools.

Limitations
The prompts were written around 5W's practice areas, so the ranking should be read as an upper bound for an industry-wide list.
